Timothy Michael Hetland

Sculptor

Timothy Michael Hetland is a 3rd generation Norwegian descending from Kragerø, Norway. Through his Skuteundfish Art Works, he defines and explores the fine balance and beauty of metal, wood, crystal and stone to create everlasting interior and exterior sculptures.

Tim’s one of a kind sculptures boast both beauty and simultaneously distressed look, are unique and compelling. His solid built sculptures start from a simple moment in time and after many hours of labor are brought to life.  As a New England artist, born in beautiful Newport, RI, Tim has always been fascinated with the ocean, the sky, and the earth and is inspired to craft images of what he sees, with his hands, very much like his Father and his Grandfather did in Norway. Tim is so very proud of his Norwegian heritage.

Skilled in many forms of 2D and3D artistic designs, lineal and other interesting and abstract shapes and thrives independently or as a team member. My key fascinations are primarily metal and stone with added twists of exotic wood, crystals and other earth found elements. My art also speaks to old soul carvings, and indigenous beliefs and glyphs when appropriate.

Self-taught visual artist. I am always aware of my environment and find beauty in everything natural.  By allowing the metal patina process the time to evolve, my sculptures becomes more in tune within their surroundings and invoking astral and ancient vibes.
